Overview

The Senior Accountant will perform variety of accounting responsibilities to support the financial functions of the company. This position will ensure accurate, timely and valuable financial information is available to operate the business. This position is a business partner to the Controller and serves as the key member of the finance team.
Responsibilities

Assist with oversight of Cretex corporate accounting and consolidated financial reporting, ensuring that:

  • Accurate, timely consolidated financial information is generated each month
  • Required internal controls and processes are in place and functioning properly
  • Year-end closing and audit for consolidated group, employee benefits plans and other compliance reporting are all completed efficiently and on time
  • Embrace and deliver operational excellence (lean manufacturing/accounting) initiatives to improve processes and eliminate waste
Consolidated financial reporting
  • Administration of FCCS Reporting Software and Reports
  • Work with the corporate accounting staff to ensure accounting information is compiled and disseminated timely
  • Month end reconciliations, reports, financial analysis and metrics
  • Capital expenditure and financing review, financial projections, and inventory cost analysis
Ensure that financial systems of Affiliates are operating effectively
  • Manage internal audit process, including review of internal controls, testing and documentation
  • Provide support to Affiliate finance departments
  • Assume controller role for smaller Affiliate(s) as needed
Coordinate efforts with legal, tax, employee benefit plans and insurance functions
  • Administer company insurance and risk management program
  • Assist with employee benefit plans and various tax functions
  • Assist with contract review and negotiation
  • Prepare quarterly debt compliance certifications
Special Projects
  • Acquisition due diligence and integration
  • Assist with Board, Audit Committee and Shareholder reporting and communication
  • Research emerging GAAP standards for communication and coordination of adoption
  • Analytically review customers, competitors and markets
  • Consolidated sourcing and operational excellence projects
  • Identify improvement opportunities and drive results
  • Manage summer corporate finance intern projects
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field
  • CPA Certification
  • 5 years of experience performing advanced accounting principles and processes
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and audit
  • Ability to effectively manage people and work in teams
  • Solid computer and accounting application skills required
  • Working knowledge of Financial consolidation software, FCCS
  • Basic working knowledge of income tax concepts a plus
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, strong work ethic and drive, self-starter
  • Ability to consistently achieve short- and long-term goals and objectives
  • Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
  • Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
  • Participate in required company meetings
  • Maintain an organized work area (5S)
  • Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Complete all other work duties as assigned
