Position Description

Position Overview

Staker Parson, a CRH company, offers full-time accounting internships for a few exceptional candidates. The summer intern program is designed to provide an opportunity for a candidate to assess CRH as a future employer and for CRH to assess a candidate's skills and long-term career fit at the company. As a summer intern, you will strengthen your accounting skills through practical application and will have opportunities to make a direct impact on the organization. At the end of the summer internship, you will be able to showcase your work and key learnings to business leaders. We hire students with leadership potential, strong analytical skills, and a passion for the building materials and construction business.

The summer internship program is a roughly twelve (12) week program consisting of various assignments designed to provide wide exposure across our company's accounting functions and business intelligence projects. Intern assignments start in early to mid-May and will conclude in August. Part of the assignments will be in Northern Utah, working in our Draper office with occasional visits to our Ogden office or operational sites and the other part of the assignments may be remote. The various assignments will be in the following areas:

  • Transactional Shared Services Accounting / Procurement
  • Operational Accounting
  • BI Development & Analytics


  • Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

    • Assist with weekly production recording and reporting
    • Assist with month-end close tasks
    • Provide support in developing, revising, and analyzing data for all areas of business
    • Assist with other general accounting and office tasks, such as data entry
    • Provide support in accounts payable, receiving, procurement, billings, or accounts receivable
    • Support the BI team with SQL, automation, statistical analysis, and storytelling
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements
    • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
    • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate as a sophomore or higher
    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale
    • Willing to work out of our Draper office with occasional visits to our Ogden office and operational sites
    • Able to work remotely for part of the rotation as deemed necessary and designated by management
