Job Description

Summary

  • Position provides localized accounting services for the Delaware (DE) business unit.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable
    • Coordinate the coding and approval of all invoices within DE by appropriate approvers
    • Processing of DE invoices, including but not limited to standard invoices, recurring invoices, invoice templates, check requests and & local check requests from manager's fund
    • Assist with coding of complex invoices for vehicles and metering
    • Vendor liaison for AP issues, including vendor statements and payment methods
    • Supplemental Reporting including the Vendor Purchases file, Take Rate Reports, Spend Reports, Retainage Reports, PCARD reports and reports showing items pending within AP process
  • Requisitioning/Purchasing
    • Process requisitions, track, and file POs for reference.
    • Record material receivers in People Soft as documents are gathered from field
    • Create supplemental reporting such as open receivers, and ensure open items are resolved.
  • Inventory
    • Issuance of materials from inventory per T&D maintenance and blankets and Engineering projects.
    • Update inventory with project returns and cycle count results
  • Payroll
    • Process weekly union payroll and perform QA/QC timesheets
    • Performs payroll analysis items such as WC claims & aids Human Resources with union wages updates
    • Update PODS report and perform non-productive time analysis when manager requests
    • Completes the quarterly Local Service Tax forms
  • Other Local Accounting Functions
    • Coordinate's processing of Misc. Revenue and Misc. Cash invoicing and reconciliation
    • Completes expense reports for multiple employees
    • Completes yearly Escheats/Unclaimed Property review with the DE Dept. of Revenue
    • Assists Finance Director with Developer Refunds & Dashboard items
    • Assists Finance Director with ad hoc rate case queries
  • Tech Support
    • Has the ability to provide tech support for all cell phone, tablets, and laptops.
    • Is the DE liaison with corporate IS&T
    • Special project testing for IS&T and Corp Accounts Payable.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Assist the Senior Manager of Operations as needed
    • Assisting with reporting, scheduling and note taking at meetings, etc.
    • Responsible for ensuring that the DE office has the supplies necessary to complete the daily functions

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Post High School Education in Accounting preferred
  • 5+ years time keeping experience preferred
  • 5+ years bookkeeping experience preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Must be able to work under stressful situations.
  • Must be able to utilize sound business judgment in decision making.
  • Must be able to problem solve, teach, and learn
  • Must be able to read, write and analyze

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time; moderate lifting up to 15 pounds; ability to travel.
