Nurse Practitioner (NP) General Surgery will be assigned to various services including general surgery, cardiac surgery, urology, plastics surgery, orthopedic surgery, transplant, and Robotics cases in the operating room at the discretion of the Director of Surgical Advanced Practice and division management.

Shifts: 12-hour day / evening / night shifts; some weekends and holidays

Qualifications:

  • MSN/DNP from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN and CRNP license are required
  • Current certifications as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland
  • BLS Health Care Provider CPR certification required: AHA or Red Cross accepted
  • Requires 3 years of related nursing work experience
  • No NP work experience required; will consider new grad NP if you have prior RN work experience in IMC or ICU
  • New Graduate NP will need a letter from the Maryland BON approving practice as a Nurse Practitioner Graduate
  • CDS and DEA licensure required
  • Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS) enrollment required

***Comprehensive Benefits Package and Relocation provided if moving 50 miles or greater.

***You will function in a Nurse Practitioner Associate role until credentialed by The Johns Hopkins Hospital medical board and staff privileges are granted.
