The Administrative Specialist Registration and Records is directly responsible to the Registration and Records Manager. This position has primary responsibility for processing registration and related enrollment tasks, maintaining student records, and providing general information as requested.

Use critical thinking to evaluate and process confidential student information, including creating new student records and updating existing records with student provided details; evaluate student provided documents, including high school transcripts, to determine appropriate course placement.

Assist with overall student registration processes, including but not limited to student registration issues, drops/adds/withdrawals, and interpreting holds; problem solve student issues and effectively interact across departments to provide resolutions.

Perform the functions of the Bursar's Office at the extension campuses, including processing payments and payment plans, and balancing daily cashiering sessions to prepare for transfer.

Display interdepartmental knowledge and accurately provide detailed information to students, staff, faculty and the general public regarding institutional policies and processes, including next steps.

Maintain the security of student records, both physical and electronic, through compliance with FERPA requirements.

Assist with the testing, implementation and maintenance of key technology systems related to department processes, including the SIS and third-party systems.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.

Two years of related administrative experience required. Experience in a college environment preferred.

Excellent computer and software skills.

Excellent organizational, human relations and communication skills.

    Special Instructions: Please attach all required documents at the time of application. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Thursday, four 6.25 hr shifts. At least one 12:15 - 6:30 pm shift per week (usually downtown on Wednesdays).
