Primary Purpose of Position:

The role is to provide admin support to faculty, staff and students. Duties include purchasing, receiving, fund reconciliation, travel, and human resources activity. Primary point of contact for key request, room scheduling, work request, supplies and equipment, mail distribution, greeting incoming guests, support for assigned faculty which includes grant transactions and reconciliation, department funded student employment, assist/coordinate department events as needed and other projects at will.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Graduation from high school, or completion of its equivalency, and three years of office/clerical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training/experience.

Essential Job Duties:

Duties include:

  • Purchasing, receiving, fund reconciliation, travel, and human resources activity.
  • Primary point of contact for key request, room scheduling, work request, supplies and equipment, mail distribution, greeting incoming guests, support for assigned faculty which includes grant transactions and reconciliation, and department funded student employment,
  • Assist/coordinate department events as needed and other projects at will.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Three or more years of administrative support experience, preferably in a higher education environment.
  • Ability to learn student employment, travel, and purchasing processes, and assist faculty with following those procedures.
  • Prior experience with state or grant budgets is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Banner or similar software preferred.
  • Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and organize.
  • Must be team-oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially MS Word and Excel.
