Our client, a logistics company near Itasca is looking for an Air Operator. This opportunity is open due to growth within the division and are looking for diverse experience to impact their business. The ideal candidate can comes with experience coordinating Air Freight within a freight forwarding company. This is a direct hire opportunity and 100% onsite in the Itasca office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for air freight shipments and export/import documentation.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and procedures for both domestic and international shipments
• Plan and coordinate transportation logistics for door-to-door delivery of cargo, including coordinating ground transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
• Maintain regular communication with customers to provide updates on shipment status, address any issues or concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with air freight operations, including security risks, weather-related delays, and logistical challenges.
• Monitor and control costs associated with air freight operations, including negotiating rates with airlines and optimizing shipping routes to minimize expenses.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Air import/export coordination experience or recruitment experience within an office environment
• Bachelor's degree is required
• Computer proficient in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Cargowise experience is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work within a team setting and operate independently
