As an API Product Manager at CSAA, you will play a key role in delivering APIs for external and internal partners to consume enabling mission-critical applications including sales, service and claims across digital and agency channels.
You will be responsible for articulating the Product or Feature vision into work packages with clarity and measurable definitions of done. You will need to use your technical expertise and deep experience in delivering features using Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum, as a Product Owner for this position. To be successful you will have to balance priorities, collaborate with customers (internal and external) at all business levels, creation and maintaining the product roadmap, delivering within an agile delivery framework, and managing key performance indicators.
This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, work with tight timelines, document decisions, and handle various tasks simultaneously while continuing to develop a positive work culture.
Essential responsibilities
Specifying and overseeing the research needed to determine the needs and desires of customers (Internal and external)
Assessment of new feature requests to existing product lines to create and maintain a healthy backlog of prioritized stories for scrum team refinement and execution
Taking the product vision and strategy and develop as well as maintain a roadmap for our APIs and first-party / third-party technology integrations
Ownership of the Product Increment Roadmap and Communication to Product Managers
Writing User Stories in story format for clear understanding of the feature and clear definition of done
Developing API Contracts for review with delivery teams
Collaboration with Scrum Team for effort sizing based on the story points and team capacity/velocity metrics
Working with and influencing cross-functional product teams to articulate and plan customer needs and product increment dependencies in big room planning events to take vision into actionable team work effort
What would make us excited about you
Strong understanding of the API management and Integration domain
Demonstrated ability to identify which problems to solve through a logical/systematic approach and determine when to scale a solution
Demonstrates curiosity and empathy, and asks probing questions that help uncover customer needs.
In-depth experience with delivering REST APIs in a microservices' ecosystem
Experience working with a geographically dispersed workforce
Proven track record partnering with internal partners to define strategies and roadmaps, dependencies, and releases
Experience facilitating productive sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions with the delivery team
Experience defining and running Key Performance Indicators for the product area of responsibility
Experience using Atlassian JIRA or equivalent to manage backlogs and document features
Experience in creating a positive culture where people are treated with kindness, respect, and appreciation
Excellent written documentation and executive presentation abilities
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Related work experience in API Development and Product Management
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Product Management
2 years of technical product owner experience working in partnership with a delivery team using Scrum.
Prior work experience
Prior programming Experience
Has worked in an API Development Team as an engineer
Is familiar with and has written API Service Contracts
Technical skills
API Design - Design API to a customer experience
OpenAPI Design Specification
Databases, including SQL and NoSQL

If performed in Colorado, this position has a(n) salary range of $93,600-$117,100 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 8% of eligible pay.
