Job Description Summary:
What you need to know about the role:
We are looking for an architect to join our Enterprise Cyber Security (ECS) organization, who is responsible for protecting and defending PayPal. This role will be responsible to develop and provide the technical strategy to enable PayPal to securely develop and operate global APIs to serve all of company's products and services.

Meet our team:
The scope of the role will span across multiple technology domains, and will impact the software development lifecycle (SDL) methodology of product engineering & software engineering teams across the PayPal enterprise. This role will be a part of a dedicated engineering team focused on developing and delivering foundational API lifecycle management governance processes, automated capabilities and services.

Job Description:

Your way to impact:
  • Collaborate across PayPal to deeply understand the challenges and problem statements related to API Security & Governance initiative.
  • The successful candidate will make high-level design decision and frame technical standards, which will be adopted across the global PayPal hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Partner with stakeholders to derive and capture requirements and establish prioritization for solutions development.
  • Communicate, socialize and validate proposals and solutions developed by the dedicated API Security & Governance engineering team.
  • Analyze security, technical and business requirements related to API lifecycle management across PayPal enterprise. Formulate and own the end-to-end technical strategy and architectural decisions of the dedicated team for API Security & Governance initiative.
  • Ensure executive and stakeholder alignment to technical and execution strategy. Provide guidance to ensure initiative execution towards established strategy.

  • Deep knowledge of software engineering and development practices/methodologies.
  • Solve problems & conflict resolution.
  • Out-of-the-box & creative thinking.
  • Prioritize critical tasks and requirements.
  • Effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Strongly collaborate and partner across different roles to drive alignment & execution.

What do you need to bring:
  • Minimal of 10 years in software engineering experience in a consumer-based service delivery company.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a nimble engineering team through rapid prototyping and delivery methodology.
  • Breadth of experience to span across multiple technology domains.
  • Comfortable working in complex and diverse environment, and ability to rapidly analyze and distill to critical requirements.
  • Ability to brutally prioritize/focus work on rapid execution.
  • Own technical and strategic decisions and effective in aligning cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate at multiple organizational and technical levels, and influence without direct authority through interpersonal skills.

Colorado Only : The pay range for this position is as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary. Colorado Salary in USD : $188615 - $232995
