HYG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Production Management team. As an Area Coach II, you will have the opportunity to provide supervisory guidance and mentorship to Area Coach I and Zone Captains. As well as direction on situations that disrupt the daily schedule or cause out of process situations; coordinate root cause analysis at the Tier 2 level and implement continuous improvement activities to achieve the plant target metrics. The Area Coach II will own metrics tied to the tier 2 level along with their support team.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Develop effective work directions and execute to achieve on time delivery to customers.
  • Leads and teaches how to use the PAP plan to develop correct RTO and DRP.
  • Standardize work by establishing monthly and daily production targets and communicate the requirements to the Tier 2 team to establish future state targets to permanently correct production issues and eliminate all non-value added waste.
  • Coach and manage Area Coach I and Zone Captains through performance management and employee relation concerns.
  • Promote teamwork, constructive change, and communication to develop employees to their maximum potential.
  • Out of Process by providing direction and root cause analysis on disruptions to the schedule and out of flow items.
  • Facilitate Tier 2 team meetings and lead continuous improvement process to resolve issues.
Minimum qualifications:
  • 2 year degree with 7-10 years experience or bachelor degree required.
  • 3-5 years direct supervisor experience within manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive continuous improvement, manage processes, and implement new concepts. Ability to interact and coach a diverse group of people.
  • High level analytical ability where problems are complex. Able to use complex problem solving processes to implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Excellent skills in planning/organizing and time management. Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative, including performance of duties exercising independent judgement.
  • Extensive knowledge of lean processes and problem solving. Ability to lead and coach teams in continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Advanced interpersonal skills. Ability to function as a team player.
