Pennoni is seeking a Asbestos Safety Technician in our Haddon Heights office with experience consistent but not limited to:
Duties of the asbestos safety technician (AST) pursuant to NJAC 5:23-8.1 through 8.22 (“Subchapter 8”) shall include:

  • be currently licensed (or eligible for licensing)
  • perform all required air sampling
  • monitor the asbestos project for conformance with NJAC 5:23-8.1 through 8.22 (“Subchapter 8”)
  • continuously inspect the performance of the contractor
  • be on site from the initial preparation of the work area through the approved final visual inspection
  • perform all inspections.
  •  direct the actions of the contractor
  • require that all workers present a valid asbestos worker card
  • direct corrective action
  •  direct corrective action for air concentrations above the acceptance criteria
  • monitor the removal of all asbestos-contaminated waste from the work area
  • keep an up-to-date and comprehensive daily log of on-site activities.
  • prepare a comprehensive final report
 
Duties of the asbestos project inspector (API) pursuant to the Philadelphia Asbestos Control Regulation (ACR);
The Asbestos Project Inspector (API) shall;
  • be currently licensed (or eligible for licensing)
  • perform all required air sampling
  • monitor the asbestos project for conformance with the ACR.
  • initial, project and clearance air sampling
  • visual inspections during the course of the asbestos project
  • protect building occupants and the general public from exposure to asbestos.
Required Attributes
  • Required Education: Associates Degree in Natural Science or Applied Science.
  • Minimum years of relevant experience: 0-3.
  • Licenses Required: NJAC Subchapter 8 AST.
  • Essential Software Skills: Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain contractor compliance with all asbestos regulations and best practices.

  • Leadership qualities. Ability to command respect from contractors.
