Position Summary

Perform Media Preparation functions in ABI manufacturing. Demonstrate good housekeeping practice. Assist with autoclave operation (sterilization and/or decontamination) as directed. Fill out process specific documents accurately and completely. Follow Standard Operating Procedures. Train and apply cGMP to assigned work. Read and follow MSDS guidelines.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist with reading and reporting testing results using scientific instruments
• Assemble lab/production equipment
• Sterilize medias using heat and filtration methods
• Learn and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including respirators
• Complete documentation without error
• Perform lab processes using Aseptic Technique in a clean room environment
• Operate CIP/SIP equipment
• Order raw materials and supplies from warehouse operations

Education and Experience

High school degree or equivalent. 2-4 years post secondary education with biological coursework desirable.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Mechanical aptitude
• Basic Microsoft application and computer skills
• Working knowledge of metric system

• Manual dexterity using hands and fingers
• Constant standing for extended periods
• Frequent need to sit, kneel, crouch, and climb; reach with hands and arms
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work flexible hours including work weekend, holiday, and overtime

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT CHARACTERISTICS DESCRIBED HERE ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THOSE AN EMPLOYEE ENCOUNTERS WHILE PERFORMING PRINCIPLE DUTIES OF THIS JOB. NOTED PERSONNEL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE) MUST BE UTILIZED WHILE ON THE JOB.
• High noise levels Hearing Protection as required
• Frequent exposure to heavy items ANSI 75 Safety shoes required
• Exposure to cleaning agents/chemicals PPE as required
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts Ensure safety shields are always in place
• Exposure to extreme temperature variations PPE as required
