Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide high quality instruction to students in the Psychology degree program, advise undergraduate students, pursue faculty development efforts, and participate in the wider life of the university and community. The successful candidate will also be expected to establish and maintain an externally-funded research program that incorporates the participation of undergraduate students as collaborators. Teaching responsibilities will include courses within the candidate's area of specialization as well as core courses within the department (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Introductory Psychology courses for majors and non-majors, Personality, Black or Cultural Psychology). Those with a degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology are especially encouraged to apply. However, candidates from other areas of Psychology will also be considered.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a doctorate degree in Psychology (Clinical/Counseling) or a related discipline. ABD candidates will be considered, but the degree must be earned by the offer date. Experience teaching a diverse population of undergraduate students, course development and curriculum design experience is encouraged. Commitment to developing an extramural-funded research program that will offer experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate students will give a candidate a competitive advantage. Candidates with an interest in research addressing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach with technology,
display the ability to establish productive collaborations and have interpersonal skills that will allow them to be trustworthy and valued team members.
