About the Site

The Grand Ridge Energy Center is a 210 MW wind power generation facility located in Marseilles, IL utilizing GE 1.5 SLE turbine technology, 20 MW Solar and 36 MW of Battery Storage.

Position Overview

As the Assistant O&M Manager you will assist in the supervision of Operations and Maintenance of equipment that makes up Grand Ridge Energy Center. This position reports to the O&M Manager and is part of a management team that is responsible for the safe, efficient, fiscally sound, and environmentally conscientious operation and maintenance of the facility, including all supporting properties and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the direction of plant maintenance during all routine, predictive, preventative, emergency and outage maintenance activities including work performed by contractors.
• Assist with the management of the necessary training programs to improve maintenance skills of the O&M Technicians. Administer the training and qualifications for the technical skills training programs including electrical, instrumentation, controls and mechanical.
• Assist with the management of the plant warehouse including tools, materials, consumables and spare parts inventory and perform routine audits of spare parts and materials as in accordance with plant and company procedures.
• Work closely with all operational support groups to achieve safe and effective operations
• Update and maintain the maintenance schedule for all predictive and preventative maintenance activities with the goal of maximizing availability.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections on project assets including substation, collection system, WTGs, etc.
• Help develop and implement short- and long-term maintenance strategies for the plant in coordination with the O&M Manager.
• Update and continually improve maintenance procedures and safe work practices for maintenance task.
• Help with the supervision of all subcontractors to ensure safety, cost control, and quality assurance.
• Assist with the administration of the site computerized maintenance management system (EAM).
• Suggest and help identify critical spare parts and their procurement and manage this inventory in a manner consistent with plant needs.
• Assist and make recommendations to the O&M Manager in the areas of equipment purchases, plant budgeting and equipment modifications.

Required Skills

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or skilled trade environment; experience in electrical generation facilities is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet) up to 50% of the time.
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
