Summary:
Provides diagnosis through analysis in the field of Pathology, including the specialties of Anatomic Pathology, Experimental Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, Cytogenetics, Molecular Diagnostics and Flow Cytometry, Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, and Autopsy Pathology; applies modern techniques to determine tumor prognosis in conjunction with the Tumor Registry Department and various other departments; collects samples of both tumor and normal tissue in several cancer areas, including lung, colon, breast and prostate; acts as a resource for clinical and basic science investigators at the organization; conducts scientific clinical research and defines new clinical entities; provides education and training to staff and students.

Required Education and Experience
License and Certification Requirement
1. License or permit to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York.
2. Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Pathology or a specialty of Anatomic Pathology, Experimental Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, Cytogenetics, Molecular Diagnostics, Flow Cytometry, Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology or Autopsy Pathology.
Education and Experience
Medical Doctor degree and prior full-time experience in the field of Pathology or a specialty of Anatomic Pathology, Experimental Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, Cytogenetics, Molecular Diagnostics and Flow Cytometry, Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, or Autopsy Pathology.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
