This position is a Hybrid role and it does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

Job Description Summary

  • The Assistant Product Manager for Global Mobile Applications is responsible for defining the enterprise's strategic vision and global product roadmap relative to GM's suite of global, customer-facing mobile applications supporting our current regional markets, and new markets as well.
  • This position holds responsibility for global feature planning and requirements, working in concert with CX's global product management and engineering teams to bring an outstanding customer experience to market for our customers. Will works with cross-functional teams toward common goals (user experience, marketing, legal, privacy, 3rd parties, engineering, etc.) to deliver app features and functionality that makes customer's lives easier, more convenient, and more comfortable.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and thrive in a fast-paced environment where quick, calculated decision-making and cross-organizational alignment is required. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to understand mobile technologies, and a motivation to expand and unify our experiences in all GMs digital platforms.
  • The person in this role will report into the CX World Class Interfaces team under the Engineering Customer Experience organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Document product strategy & new feature scope/requirements across multiple countries, languages, product platform and launches, in coordination with our OnStar Global Product Management team
  • Work with regional teams to collect feedback/product improvement suggestions, supervise market sentiment/industry trends, and review reporting to identify areas opportunity relative to overall roadmap for inclusion in portfolio discussions
  • Collaborate with User Experience to develop all flows and designs
  • Ensure mobile applications enforce to GM Policies and Procedures by working closely with different organizations including global security, legal, privacy, etc.
  • Help prioritize product backlog for mobile by representing global needs/timing to ensure we're delivering the most valuable features to market in required timeframes
  • Work with cross-functional team members to ensure feature readiness for PI planning events, and articulate the feature/capability business value & OKRs (objectives & key results) for the team
  • Maintain knowledge of mobile application landscape, trends, and features; act as a center of excellence for our mobile channel with other partners
  • Participate in testing & validation of mobile applications; participate in demos/reviews related to mobile features as vital, and build plan to implement improvements
  • Help coordinate efforts to launch mobile app in-market, working with marketing and go-to-market teams, and prepping marketing content for app stores

Additional Job Description

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with mobile or web applications
  • Program/product management experience or business planning experience
  • Familiarity/experience with SAFe agile development processes
  • Solid background in translating business needs to develop strong technology solutions
  • Customer focus
  • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing environment and specifications; strong decision-making skills
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Global awareness/sensitivity; previous global work preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in digital project/product management or proven experience
  • Experience detailing product requirements or leading products in the digital domain
  • Positive relationship building skills
  • Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in digital media/platforms
  • Self-starting personality with the ability to think strategically, problem solve and develop creative solutions
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams and functional areas
  • Willing to take action
  • Occasional travel, including some weekends
  • Ability to occasionally work irregular hours
Education
  • Bachelor's degree required
