Winona State University invites you to join our Community of Learners as a Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. This is a probationary/tenure-track appointment with an expected start date of 8/19/2024. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching Criminal Justice courses, often with an emphasis in Corrections and Justice Services. Courses you would be expected to teach may include, but are not limited to, Corrections, Community Corrections, Offender Assessment, and Family Violence. Teaching assignments typically include a 4/4 course load with 24 credit hours taught per academic year. Additional duties include (1) engaging in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field; (2) contributing to student growth and development, including student advising; (3) providing service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community; and (4) supporting WSU's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve. The minimum qualification for this position is a Ph.D./ABD or other Doctorate in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field. Note that a J.D. may be considered if you also have a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field and professional experience in Corrections.
