Assistant Professor of Psychology (Cognitive Neuroscience)

The Department of Psychology at Louisiana State University invites applicants for a tenure‐track Assistant Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience beginning Fall 2023. This appointment will be full-time (nine-month). Candidates with the potential to strengthen our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are highly desirable.

Duties will include graduate and undergraduate teaching in neuroscience, maintaining an active research agenda with regular publications and the pursuit of external funding, publishing in top-tier journals in a related area of research, presenting research at conferences and professional meetings, supervising student research, and participating in departmental, college, and University service activities commensurate with rank. Access to technology to support research in neuropsychology and neuroscience (e.g., EEG/ERP and fMRI) are available in the department and through collaboration with a nearby institution within the LSU System, the Pennington Biomedical Research Center. There is also access to computational support, collaboration, and the potential for joint appointment with LSU's Center for Computation & Technology (CCT). CCT is an interdisciplinary research center that advances computational sciences and has advanced cyberinfrastructure to enable computational research.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology or Neuroscience and a research program that uses neuroscience approaches to study human cognition. ABD candidates who will finish by the time of the appointment will be considered. Must have a sufficient research record to demonstrate the potential to develop a nationally recognized program and attract research funding.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with strengths in computational modeling/methods and/or fMRI are particularly encouraged to apply.
