Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an ambitious and self-starting Assistant Project Manager to support our client by driving core project coordination efforts across a wide spectrum of ongoing, construction projects. This is a project delivery and reporting role to support construction project managers.

Job Objectives

  • Coordinate RFIs and submittals throughout the project
  • Regular collaboration and coordination with Architects, consultants, and contractors
  • Conduct background research, data collection and benchmarking
  • Review estimates, market pricing and track through design stages
  • Oversee GMP buyout and procurement activities (perform bid normalization)
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and other progress reports to the client
  • Support with the review, quantification, and negotiation of change orders
  • Support with preparation of cash flow forecasting and tracking
  • Review and validate monthly pay applications from the General Contractor
  • Review invoicing from design consultants and Client vendors
  • Prepare Purchase Requisitions for Client approval
  • Provide input into value engineering exercises Track and report cost savings
  • Coordinate cost information to inform the client when making cost related decisions
  • Coordinate with the architect and GC to develop cost estimates for additional scopes of
  • work
  • Manage Cost impact / contingency management and commitment tracking logs
  • Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed in a timely manner
  • Assist in Punch-list management and close out
  • Meeting coordination, create, maintain, and follow a project schedule
  • Transcribe meeting minutes and action items and drive each item to closure
  • Maintain the standards, processes, procedures, and deliverables for all reporting
  • activities
  • Ensure project compliance with document controls and file specifications
  • Administer project closeout specifications and associated turnover documentation
  • Walk project site to observe construction sequencing and means and methods used.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a construction professional who is a self-starter, able to take the initiative and drive activities with limited supervision.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Drive to be proactive and self-motivated.
  • The tenacity and ambition to inject value and create solutions.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with project teams.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be a team player.
