** We expect this Sales leader to spend much of their time in the field - with customers, team members, and other partners - prefer this individual to live near one of Helen of Troy's offices in New York City or Marlborough, MA or other U.S. cities served by a nearby major airport: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, and others.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Associate Director of Sales manages the sales and profit with U.S. retailers established within an assigned account base. This multifaceted and highly qualified CPG sales professional will drive new product distribution, promotions and category management selling the complete line of Helen of Troy products into multiple channels of trade.

This diversified and experienced person will directly lead customer sales and profits for assigned accounts, as well as manufacturer's representatives where appropriate.

  • Implements marketing programs in support of product distribution and profit goals with focus on developing strategic customer partnerships.
  • Executes sales plan by preparing for and conducting customer calls with appropriate Buyer/General Merchandising Manager/VP level with goal of attaining category leadership.
  • Overcome objections to persuade desirable candidates to consider job opportunities.
  • Maintains relationships with manufacturer's representatives to ensure quality of service, sales and profit goals are being met.
  • Provides input to Product Marketing and Demand Planning to support effective account management.
  • Attends trades shows as necessary.
  • May require up to 50% travel and 50% in corporate office.
  • Hire, train and manage manufacturer's representatives as required.


Skills needed to be successful in this role:
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal/written skills, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and deliver multiple products or services concurrently under time constraints


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 + years previous sales management experience calling on national retail accounts with preference of CPG background and National Account Management experience.
  • Previous experience must be in consumer products industry selling to multiple classes of trade including; food and drug, mass merchandisers, house wares, hardware and other specialty retailers
  • Prior CPG Sales relationship with large regional or national CPG retailer
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

In California, Colorado, and New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $103,275 - $159,559 annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
