What you will be doing:

This highly creative individual will play a key role in supporting the business in the development of the Industrial design through the aesthetics, ergonomics and user experience associated with the brand.


  • Assess user experience associated with ergonomics, user logic, and user interaction of the product

  • Conceptualization of product aesthetics associated with form, color, and design language

  • Identify and problem solve end user needs

  • Maintain a cohesive design language across the OXO portfolio

  • Evolve design in a "fresh" and meaningful manner through the user interaction, aesthetics, and CMF (color, materials and finish) which is on brand to OXO's identity

  • Ensure functionality of products that is alignment with the industrial design and engineering

  • Define color solutions in a purposeful and strategic manner which aligns with the business goals

  • Strategize design within the constraints of manufacturing and cost

  • On time execution of project landmarks and results

  • Collaborate with other areas of the business such as engineering and marketing to drive projects to completion

  • Support projects needs to help facilitate design decisions; (sketches, renderings, 3D CAD models, prototypes, mockups)

  • Provide multiple design solutions to aid project direction

  • Problem-solve end user needs through interactive testing

  • Evaluate ergonomics associated with user interaction of products

  • Stay ahead of color trends, materials, and competitor products

  • Apply relevant research to design goals

  • Propose solutions based on research to help drive design decisions

  • Conceptualize forward thinking ideas for enhancements on current / future products

  • Prove out concepts through prototypes, cad, and drawings

  • Document ideas and present to appropriate teams

  • Document and present relevant research to appropriate teams (cmf, design trends, ergonomic assessment, user interaction data)

  • Deliver research in timely manner that is in line with project milestones

  • Contribute design resources and support for projects outside of team's projects

  • Participate and give design feedback as needed on projects outside of team's project scope

  • Approve factory samples for color approval across all teams

  • Give feedback to appropriate teams on color direction

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • SolidWorks proficient

  • KeyShot proficient

  • Adobe Photoshop & illustrator proficient

  • Strong sketching skills

  • Ability to articulate design in an effective manner through drawings, CAD models and prototypes

  • Ability to articulate subjective ideas in a meaningful and logical manner

  • Research oriented approach to design

  • Strong understanding of CMF and trends

  • Strong sense of aesthetics


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design

  • 1+ years of experience working as an industrial designer with relevant experience

  • Electronic copy of portfolio along with application

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Injection molding and manufacturing knowledge

  • Design consultancy background
