About the role

The Associate Manager of Cultural Influence / Public Relations is responsible for supporting the Cultural Influence team with ideation, planning and execution of PR strategies, as well as support on talent & brand collaboration, including influencer partnerships. Experience working with fashion & lifestyle media, cross-functional collaboration, creativity and out-of-the-box thinking are key to ensure success. This role reports into a Senior Manager of Cultural Influence, who oversees PR, cultural partnerships, collaborations and creative relationships for the brand.

What you'll do

  • Pitch key brand campaigns and products to target editors and journalists.
  • Support the planning and execution for press activations, including events, amplifying key brand campaigns.
  • Support the development of key press materials including press releases and media alerts.
  • Generate and foster conversations around the brand by leveraging existing contacts.
  • Leverage strong editorial relationships to secure impactful media stories that appear in top-tier fashion and lifestyle outlets.
  • Ideate and strategize ways to partner Banana Republic with the right established and emerging brands, talent and collaborators in exciting new ways.
  • Concept modern scalable cultural & media approaches for each key brand moment.
  • Innovate and enhance the influencer marketing approach, staying on top of the latest talent and trends, and creating custom organic influencer strategies for each brand initiative.
  • Research and share analysis on top trends within the fashion/luxury/lifestyle industries .
  • Build and maintain a global database of fashion stylists, target media and influencer lists.
  • Partner with Marketing, Social, Creative and Editorial to develop press assets and align on product focuses for the season.

  • Qualified: 3 -5 years PR / Marketing / Communications experience in the fashion and lifestyle industries. Experience with press in a fast-paced environment required and agency experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of the fashion & lifestyle media landscape and timely news cycles across print, digital, broadcast and social.
