Position Overview

Novelis - Richmond has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Operations Leader. This position reports to the Operations Leader. The purpose of this role is to lead, coach, and develop your team of employees. In addition, you will be responsible for safe and efficient operations. As a leader at Novelis it will be expected for you to cascade our cultural beliefs and drive our Focused 5. We will provide a detailed training plan as we are here to provide opportunity for success.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Embrace the Novelis Safety Principles to build a zero-injury culture and the Novelis cultural beliefs of Do It Right, Say Anything, Own It, Get Focused and Win Together!
• Collaborate and align with departments in the plant and remote departments throughout the organization
• Assess and direct operational efforts and focus towards improved reliability, quality, and reducing operating cost.
• Engages team to drive a continuous improvement culture
• Drive the training process for new hires as well as internal moves
• Role model ownership and appropriate productions behaviors
• Communicate in positive manner and maintain professional demeanor
• Facilitates and drives the WCM initiative throughout the production areas
• Strategic decisions making and problem solving with an understanding of the effects on the plant and not just their area

• Computer software systems proficiency
• Ability to make business decistions based off data
• Professional verbal and written communication
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required
• 2+ years experience in managing/supervising others in a complex and fast paced environment with demonstrated results, preferably manufacturing based
• Success in driving a positive culture of teamwork, accountability and employee development
