An earned doctorate in Animal Science or a closely related field.
This is a nine-month, tenure track appointment (60% Extension, 35% research and 5% service) position with two months of summer salary (11.111% per month) guaranteed in the Department of Animal and Dairy Science (ADS) in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. The position will be located at the UGA Tifton Campus.

An earned doctorate in Animal Science or a closely related field with scholarship and a background in line with the rank of Associate or Full Professor is required for all candidates.
To be considered for the rank of Associate Professor, candidates must have at least 5 years of rank at the Assistant Professor level. To be considered for the rank of Full Professor, candidates must have at least 5 years in rank at the Associate Professor level. To be eligible for tenure upon appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate or full professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.

Duties/Responsibilities:Develop and provide leadership for a relevant nationally/internationally recognized beef cattle Extension and research program. Extension activities will include interaction with county agents and other scientists in developing a state-of-the-art information/technology transfer program for the Georgia Beef Industry. The position will direct the Tifton Bull Evaluation Center and Heifer Evaluation and Reproductive Development (HERD) Program. Research activities will be determined based on the successful candidate's area of expertise, but emphasis will be placed on an externally funded, applied research program.
