Position Description:

The College of Charleston invites applications for an associate or full professor of engineering with expertise in smart manufacturing to begin as soon as possible. Potential for hire with tenure. Within the last two years, the College of Charleston has launched bachelor degree programs in Systems Engineering and in Electrical Engineering: http://engineering.cofc.edu. The successful applicant will be in the unique and exciting position of working with College of Charleston leadership to expand upon these initial engineering programs by developing additional new courses, concentrations, or degree programs that apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality and other cutting-edge technologies to smart manufacturing systems. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, be collegial and collaborative, be required to teach undergraduate engineering courses, and be committed to developing working relationships with regional engineering industry that bring state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies into College of Charleston research labs and classrooms.
