Your Role:

The Associate Scientist II works in a group-based environment to produce cGMP cell banks and maintain the cGMP Cell Banking area. In this role you will make scientific observations, maintain detailed workbooks/documentation, and ensure all documentation fulfills generally accepted professional/industry standards. Additionally, you will maintain a thorough understanding of services, technical principles, and applications.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Perform all routine and relevant laboratory techniques in compliance with regulatory standards
• Maintain and operate all laboratory equipment with some troubleshooting, as necessary
• Perform various cell culture operations for the production of cGMP cell banks
• Maintain thorough records in addition to peer review of batch records
• Perform tasks in accordance with SOPs, regulations (cGMP and GLP) and all relevant documents
• Utilize correct cGMP documentation practices
• Revise batch records, standard operating procedures and FMDC
• Create new SOPs and FMDCs as needed
• Complete routine tasks such as generating cell bank reports and expansions, ordering supplies, and creating deviation and out-of-specification reports (Word, Excel, Oracle Applications, Oracle Discoverer, Trackwise, etc.)
• Responsible for generating deviations as required and participating in resolving investigations with support of other team members
• Maintain a standard upkeep of the facility through daily cleaning
• Schedule routine activities and maintenance
• Assist in training of new employees
• Initiate and complete projects independently

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or other scientific discipline
• 3+ years working laboratory experience
• 1+ years working experience with cell culture systems and aseptic processing

OR

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 5+ years working laboratory experience
• 1+ years working experience with cell culture systems and aseptic processing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or other scientific discipline
• Solid experience in regulatory compliance
• Experience with bio/pharmaceutical equipment, systems, and utilities
• Experience with validation processes
• Experience with Microsoft Office and database management systems
• Knowledge in GLP/cGMPs and relevant regulatory guidelines
• Self-starter and team player with ability to work cross-functionally
• Strong organizational and record keeping skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple projects
• Ability to troubleshoot problems in execution of cell expansion
• Ability to work independently and productively
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Working knowledge of manufacturing process to include knowledge of relevant materials and equipment
• Exhibits leadership behaviors
