Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:

• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Ability to follow standard safety practices and procedures
• Ability to effectively communicate with others
• Ability to read and understand university policy and procedures, MSDS, equipment manuals and chemical labels
• Standing and walking 8 hours a day; lifting up to 80 pounds; outside exposure to varying climate conditions, elevated heights, dust, toxic chemicals, and materials
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Possession of valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors' degree in related field
• Prior work experience in facility maintenance & athletics
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools
• An understanding of metal welding equipment and applications
• Prior experience with AV equipment and digital displays
• Forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift experience

Job Description:

Responsible for providing attractive, safe and well-maintained landscape and athletic fields.

Job Duties:

• Assist with maintaining the functional and aesthetic integrity of department facilities
• Performs general and preventive maintenance, and minor repair work to equipment and facilities. Reports major repair or other issues to supervisor
• Maintains facilities in a clean and orderly condition
• Performs routine inspections of equipment and facilities
• Coordinates repairs with outside vendors or contractors when necessary
• Assist with the setup, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of AV and electronic equipment
• Assist with the staging, preparation, and breakdown for events hosted in athletic facilities.
• Maintains a variety of records and work orders related to the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
