The Stellantis Software Organization (SWX) was established to build the most captivating experiences in the latest frontiers of automotive technology. As part of that foundation we are investing to rapidly grow our capabilities within the field of automated driving.

Stellantis is seeking a qualified Automated Driving Safety Engineer who will be involved in the development of the future of vehicle features, including automated driving systems and driver assistance systems and enablers, to which ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 is applied in a manner consistent with the Functional Safety and SOTIF life cycles as well as in accordance with the quality, performance and timing requirements as defined by the Stellantis Functional Safety and SOTIF Processes. The Automated Driving Safety Engineer will be responsible for performing functional safety analyses or SOTIF analyses and executing related tasks for Stellantis automated driving and driver assistance advanced development projects. This includes performing functional HARAs to define the required safety goals and Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) applied to vehicle, system, hardware and software designs through safety concepts. You will identify potential safety impacts of the sensor and AD algorithm designs while developing safety requirements consistent with the intent of ISO26262 and ISO21448. The Engineer is part of a strong project team that includes system and network engineering, software integration, and software development teams. The ideal candidate will possess an interest in state-of-the-art automated driving compute platforms and vehicle architectures.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Define the functional, technical and SOTIF safety requirements and create the technical documentation as required by the Stellantis safety processes
  • Collaborate in developing the safety plan in support of the program timing, and support the definition of the technical verification and validation plan of the system
  • Participate in the EE architecture design discussions for safety related functions including both in-house and supplier led development and ensure that safety concepts are adequate and implemented
  • Perform safety analyses (CCA/CMA/DFMEA/FTA and FMEDA) as required for EE systems and safety related vehicle functions
  • Support advanced and pre-development as a member of a cross functional team
  • Review safety deliverables to assure Stellantis requirements are supported and create a DIA
  • Participate in reviews of functional safety and SOTIF process work products
