Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel South Carolina (Darlington, SC) is seeking applicants for the position of Automation Engineer. The role of the Automation Engineer includes but is not limited to providing technical support for maintenance and operations, writing hardware and software specifications for projects, creating and maintaining electrical documentation, and writing and supporting software applications. Candidate must be willing to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends/holidays. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa).

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Engineering or Fiveyears' industrial electrical experience

Drive Systems (ABB or Rockwell Automation)

Programmable Logic Controllers (Rockwell Automation ControlLogix)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the steel making industry.

Experience developing programs using ABB RobotStudio

Proficient with AutoCAD/SolidWorks software
