Summary

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for working with Benefits Leadership to develop, implement and administer benefit plans for AAA and subsidiaries of AAA. This role will have secondary governance over benchmarking best practices, researching industry trends, tracking legislation and estimating impact.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with Senior Program Analyst to keep employees informed about company benefit plans and proposed changes
  • Direct responsibility over AAA and subsidiaries benefit strategies, focused on implementation with an emphasis on complex assignments requiring independent action to improve internal processes. This includes medical, dental, vision, retirement, pension and executive benefit programs
  • Governance over company compliance, in conjunction with benefit laws and ERISA regulations. (Employee Retirement Income Security Act)
  • Serve as Benefit subject matter expert (SME) and provide guidance/assistance to analysts regarding administrative & operational concerns
  • Partner with legal counsel, payroll, vendors and auditors to ensure accurate/timely reporting of plans aligned with federal and state regulatory compliance

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Keen insight into Benefits analytics with an emphasis on plan funding and standardized processes
  • Ability to identify trends and propose solutions to benefit related issues
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills

Education & Experience/Licenses & Certification

  • High school diploma or GED
  • BA/BS in related area or field (preferred)
  • 3 - 5 years experience in health/welfare/benefits field
  • Professional designation (CEBS, CBP, or equivalent) (preferred)
