Beacon Hill Technologies has a contract to hire opportunity for a BI Analyst. This position will be onsite in Cleveland, OH.

Strategy & Planning

• Gathers requirements, analyzes, creates design documents, and performs impact analysis.
• Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Continuously evaluate industry trends for opportunities to utilize new technologies and data sources for reporting and analytics improvement and prepare strategies to implement these enhancements in the TAG IT environment.
• Participate in all aspects of software upgrade analysis, implementation, and testing

Acquisition & Deployment

• Conduct research and make recommendations on reporting/analytics products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Gathers requirements, analyzes, creates design documents, and performs impact analysis.
• Provide ongoing support of the MicroStrategy implementation.

Operational Management

• Schema Development - Working with the Netezza Data Warehousing Team, identify potential new data sources and assist with the integration of new data sources into the Data Warehouse. Identify and recommend data/table structures appropriate for the existing MSTR schema structure.

o Identify and create the relationships between data elements including parent/child and hierarchies

Create the necessary MicroStrategy schema objects including Attributes, Facts, Hierarchies, Filters, Prompts, and Metrics

• Content Development - Creation of reporting solutions tailored to the needs of business users.

o MSTR Web - Creation of Interactive Dashboards and Scorecards employing design best-practices

o MSTR Mobile (iOS) - Development/maintenance of customized MSTR App for iPhone/iPad

• System Administration - Assist with the maintenance of the MicroStrategy server infrastructure as needed. This includes software installation/configuration, upgrades, server tuning, and MicroStrategy Mobile configuration
• Custom Application Development - Utilizing the MicroStrategy SDK, support the creation of customizations to both the Web and Mobile MSTR interfaces
• Monitor and Enhance the MSTR server/application environment
• Recommend process improvements to ensure MSTR queries running as efficiently as possible
• Monitor Business Intelligence/MSTR industry trends work with Management to prepare strategies to implement recommended design enhancements
• Develops SQL scripts/statements to the specifications identified during project scoping
• Assist users with problems and resolves issues independently.

• Creates test plans, test cases, test scripts and performs testing of the BI and related environments.
• Plan and organize tasks, reports progress to manager.

Incidental Functions

• Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
• Promote MicroStrategy benefits to the organization and usage of our tools to relevant business groups.
• Participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employee opportunity policy.
• Attend management meetings on behalf of team.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience.
• Oracle certifications are a plus.

Knowledge & Experience

• 5+ years IT experience.
• SQL experience.

• Experience developing business software applications.

• Well versed in query development and design using SQL.
• Unix/Linux OS experience a plus.
