Are you skilled in helping infants and their families implement developmental and behavioral growth?

Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Developmental Specialist in the Early Intervention program at Behavioral Health Network! Developmental Specialists use their knowledge of infant and toddler development, and collaborate with other professionals to provide early intervention services to families and their children in the family home or other community locations.

Developmental Specialists develop service plans for individuals covering motor, cognitive, language, social, and self-help skills, and supports caregivers in implementing the service plans in appropriate environments. Finally, the Developmental Specialists educates and instructs individuals and their caregivers to use skills and exercises to help developmental and behavior modification. They may also instruct teachers and day care staff in therapeutic techniques within the service plan when needed.

The Early Intervention Program at Behavioral Health Network serves children between the ages of birth and three years of age for whom there are developmental concerns due to identified disabilities, or whose typical development is at risk due to certain birth or environmental factors.

Developmental Specialists at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a field such as Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education or Special Education (required).
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and their families.
  • Knowledge of infant, toddler, and child development.
  • Broad knowledge of mental illness and/or intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, medical conditions, and/or treatment techniques.
  • Familiarity with and provides services within parameters of DPH regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of settings, and provide activities to the individual accordingly.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems.
  • Have access to a car to use for work, valid driver's license and safe driving record
