NATURE & SCOPE:

The essential function of the blender operator is to stage raw materials to the proper weight, add them to each batch in accordance with specifications and operates line equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stage and weigh raw materials based on formulation, record lot numbers and weights. Determines the proper raw materials used in a given product for each product line, adds the correct amounts of each ingredient to the blender per the product specification, records material information, labels products, notifies operations specialist of quality related problems, operates machinery, maintains clean work area, complies with TYSON/USDA sanitation and safety rules and regulations, operates pallet jack, performs other duties as required or assigned. Input data into Plantview and/or SAP using hand scanners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to read and write proficiently to perform job duties, understand and give verbal and written instruction, possess sufficient mathematical skill to perform arithmetic functions such as addition and multiplication using whole numbers, decimals and fractions, knowledge of weights and measures, sufficient analytical ability to interpret and use data, check reports, forms, records, and use record keeping devices and make decisions from several alternatives; sufficient physical ability to push, pull or lift materials weighing up to 60 lbs. frequently without mechanical assistance, climb stairs, walk up to 1 mile per shift, tolerate heights of 25' stand throughout shift, sufficient near, far and depth perception vision to perform the operations, work in cold environment, and possess a valid certified pallet jack operator license.
