Job Title: Building Automation System (BAS) Control Technician (ND)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for BAS Technician in Herndon, VA. This position operates, monitors, troubleshoots, repairs and performs preventive maintenance to the building automation system, (BAS) at New Dominion One and Two located in Herndon Virginia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• This position involves working on Building Automation System that control heating and air conditioning for the facility. The controls are used to start/modulate, monitor, and stop chillers, air handlers, pumps, towers, VAV's, exhaust fans, and other devises.
• Performs routine reoccurring preventive maintenance services and tasks as documented by the CMMS and other special requests or requirements to building BAS equipment.
• Monitors the site operations through the BAS control system. Performs tests, calibration and operation as required.
• Strong organizational skills
• Performs troubleshooting and repairs of all BAS equipment.
• Read and understand control wiring schematics.
• Institute's corrective action and/or inform his supervisor on any deficiencies found in the course of performing the job.
• Assists HVAC Mechanics with the maintenance and repairs of the building air systems on the site.
• Monitor subcontractors in their task and provide reports when needed.
• Perform all other tasks as directed.

Qualifications:

• Must have an active ISSA TS/SCI clearance with FS/Poly or the ability to attain one
• Three (3) to six (6) or more years' experience in BAS maintenance and repairs on Commercial-Industrial building equipment
• Journeymen's HVAC License preferred
• Must be proficient in using test equipment (meters, leak detectors, micrometers, amprobes, psychrometers, analyzers, CO and CO2 testers and monitors) to troubleshoot and repair HVAC/EMS equipment
• Demonstrate the ability to read and understand Blueprints, schematics and specifications
• Experience with Niagara controls systems is a plus

• Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs.)
• Prolong, extensive or considerable standing/walking
• Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies and parts
• Manual dexterity and mobility
