Description:

Consistent with the mission, philosophy and policies of Loyola University Health System, the Trauma Outreach Coordinator, reporting to the Trauma Program Manager and collaborating with the Trauma Medical Director, will facilitate, organize and implement outreach and injury prevention activities. These activities and programs, prepared for the medical center and surrounding communities will encompass lifespan challenges. Education programs for clinical and non-clinical employees and community members will be an additional responsibility of the Trauma Outreach Coordinator

Community Outreach: To meet the goal of improving community health related to burn injury, coordinates with Loyola staff and members of community organizations to identify opportunities and provide education and interventions for burn prevention. The Community Outreach Coordinator will perform the following duties: •Prioritize prevention activities according to injury trends identified by the Burn Registry. •Identify opportunities for engagement of the interdisciplinary trauma team with clinical and nonclinical entities that are concerned with burn prevention. •Evaluate outcomes of prevention activities. •Make recommendations to burn program leadership and community outreach organizations for prevention activities based on knowledge of evidence based practices and available resources for burn prevention •Facilitate access between burn experts and community resources to develop and support prevention efforts -Design, implement and evaluate comprehensive injury prevention programs for the community, pre-hospital, medical center and region

Minimum Education:

Required: Bachelors Degree

Preferred: Masters Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education

Specify Degree(s): BSN, BS, MSN, MPH, MSW, LSW or health related field

Minimum Experience:

Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications: Required:

State of Illinois Other: Driver's license required.

Preferred:

Current Registered Nurse

License State of Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Worker

State of Illinois Licensed EMT-Basic and/or Paramedic
