Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently sourcing for a Bus Driver with proven experience on Solar Projects to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. You will be r esponsible for driving a shuttle bus or van, transporting individuals along a regular route between parking areas, office buildings and various plant facilities. You will adhere to the safety and traffic rules and assist passengers in boarding or exiting on an as needed basis.

U.S: Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

Skills / Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect vehicles, and check gas, oil, and water levels prior to departure
  • Perform D.O.T .Pre-Trip Inspection (if applicable)
  • Park vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board
  • Follow safety rules as individual(s) board and exit buses or cross streets near bus stops
  • Drive multi-passenger vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules in order to transport passengers, complying with traffic and plant regulations
  • Maintain order among passengers during trips to ensure safety
  • Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs
  • Keep bus interiors clean for passengers


Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Minimum one-year experience driving multi-passenger vehicle
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with Passenger endorsement
  • Current DOT physical certification
  • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
