POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Intelligence Data Specialist serves as an integral member of the BI team, focusing on the collection, transformation, and visualization of data to enable informed decision-making across the organization. In this role, the individual collaborates with various departmental teams to identify data requirements and deliver insightful solutions. Leveraging tools like PowerBI and SQL, the Business Intelligence Data Specialist creates dashboards, conducts basic data analysis, and supports data transformation initiatives to translate complex data sets into actionable business insights.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Create, manage, and disseminate sophisticated PowerBI dashboards that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Data Modeling and Transformation: Utilize expert understanding of SQL transformations and underlying data models to execute BI solutions.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to translate between functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Training and Support: Deliver training sessions and provide remote support to end-users for PowerBI applications.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct specialized analysis on a variety of business issues, offering strategic recommendations.
  • Data Governance: Uphold data quality and governance standards.
  • Advanced Data Analysis: Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, focusing on trends and patterns that could benefit the BI department and the broader organization.
  • Data Visualization: Develop and optimize PowerBI dashboards, incorporating data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive view of metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Automation Support: Aid in identifying processes for automation and work closely with other departments to implement these changes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including those in Sales, Finance, and Operations.
  • Technical Training: Provide support and training to other staff members in the utilization of data analytics tools and platforms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and SQL.
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and testing skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage expectations and cultivate strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in statistical analysis and regression.
  • Understanding of software security principles.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory is a plus.
  • Familiarity with statistical software like R or Python.
  • Previous experience in financial reporting.
  • Experience in a cross-functional team environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: When duties are performed in a typical office environment, extended periods of sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen will be required. Also required is the ability to talk and hear, in person and by telephone; use of hands to handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; and ability to reach with hands and arms. Associates are frequently required to walk and stand. The noise level in this work environment is usually quiet. When travelling to Client sites, essential requirements of this position may require physical presence in various environments and locations. Physical stamina may be required for prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and/or working in cramped quarters. Exposure to potentially dangerous tools and equipment amidst a variety of building materials is probable, as is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can vary from being relatively quiet, to moderate, to excessive. Safety shoes or boots may be required in certain situations. Additional safety clothing including gloves, hardhats, and devices to protect eyes, mouth, or hearing, will be worn as necessary.

The base salary range for this role is $64,200 to $96,300. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
