Baylor University invites nominations and applications for the position of Business Officer in the Louise Herrington School of Nursing.

Located in the heart of Dallas, the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON) prepares baccalaureate and graduate level nurses, within a Christian community for professional practice, healthcare leadership and worldwide service. Established as a diploma-granting program in 1909 and an academic unit of Baylor in 1950, the Nursing School offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees through Traditional, FastBacc® (one-year accelerated) and Distance Accelerated BSN programs. The LHSON also offers online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs.

The Business Officer will be the senior advisor and partner on all financial and administrative matters and represents the Dean or Vice President on such matters to the University. Reporting directly to the Dean or Vice President, this leadership position is responsible for the effective conduct of business affairs and the appropriate allocation of resources to achieve the University's and Division's education, research, and business objectives. In addition to reporting to the Dean or Vice President, the Business Officer receives direction and guidance from the Chief Business Officer as a member of the University's Business Officer Council and is accountable for the sound, compliant and prudent operation of business.

Dallas is the third largest city in Texas and the largest city in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Located in North Texas, the city of Dallas has a population over 1.3 million. The Louise Herrington School of Nursing is nestled near Downtown Dallas and is convenient to Baylor University Medical Center and more than 150 professional nursing practice sites throughout Dallas communities. Dallas' many neighborhoods and entertainment districts have everything imaginable. From family-friendly and quaint settings to sports, to vibrant nightlife and the arts. Downtown Dallas is a continuously growing area with a beautiful arts scene, urban green spaces, fine dining and luxurious shopping.

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible management experience in a finance/accounting function
  • The ability to embody the Baylor culture and possess a deep appreciation for the University's Christian mission
  • Additional desired competencies in:
    • Large-scale data analysis
    • Collaborative leadership and decision-making
    • Financial and administrative strategizing
