Business Operations individuals work across different areas including incentive compensation, call planning, meetings and events, process automation using Robotic process automation, customer-centric marketing, forecasting, master data management, value and access, research and development and marketing operations. Our Business Operations teams act as trusted problem-solvers and client connectors.

During their career at ZS, Business Operations team members will get a chance to work on a variety of projects that can be largely classified into the following categories. Each specialization applies some unique skillsets that team members are expected to learn over time.

  • Ops Analytics: Leveraging analytics to solve clients' business problems, and operationalizing them. Addressing business concerns and improving program design through ad-hoc analytics.
  • Data & Technology: Configuring and operating data and technology solutions to enable business insights, capability adoption and change management. Engaged in end-to-end tech cycles including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing and operations.
  • Process Transformation: Managing and optimizing operations, transforming processes through Intelligent Process Automation, and advising internal and external teams on ways to improve operations.

  • BUSINESS OPERATIONS CONSULTANT

    Business Operations Consultants support our clients' business processes and operations activities to ensure productivity and profitability. Business Operations Consultants combine best-in-class operational and analytic skills with strong problem-solving and communication abilities to projects to solve operational, analytical and strategic business problems. As Business Operations Consultants advance in their career, they may choose to specialize in a particular industry, practice area and/or client relationship.

    Responsibilities:
    • Understand client business issues, operating business rules, data, and standard operating procedures
    • Identify potential opportunities for process improvement in client processes (Process Evaluation, Maturity assessment and Automation & Optimization). Explore new tools, techniques, working models to improve design and improve processes
    • Develop strong understanding of processes, data, tools & technology to effectively translate business to technology & vice versa and to be able to thought partner with clients to provide suitable recommendations to solve challenging business operations issues
    • Define operational models for our clients with standard operating procedures, quality assurance quality checks, governance criteria, roles and responsibilities
    • Lead major process enablement and transformation initiatives
    • Manage & coach large teams across offices and coordinate multiple work streams to produce high-quality results
    • Work on multiple client engagements, strengthening analytic, project management and business story telling skills
    • Collaborate with internal ZS teams to develop new offerings for the client
    • Develop deep domain expertise in the practice area
    • Provide thought leadership and innovation, advising internal groups and leading initiatives on business operations excellence
    • Manage client relationships to ensure long-term strategic partnerships
    • Participate in business and strategy development
    • Develop a good understanding of various mathematical and statistical models related to the project to enable decision making.
    Qualifications:

    ZS welcomes candidates with an MBA degree and bachelor's/ master's degree in Engineering, Operations Management/Research, Management Information Systems, Management Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or Econometrics or other relevant academic program, plus 3-5 years of prior project management experience in technology or operations. In lieu of an MBA degree, 6-10 years of relevant work experience may substitute.

    • Prior experience in any analytics/ visualization tool like Tableau, SQL, SAS, Microsoft Suite, QlikView, Python, VBA, R etc.
    ZS is a global consulting firm. Fluency in English is required; additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
