Jessup Systems, division of Koch Finishing Systems, is a world leader in turnkey Automated Metal Finishing Systems for, plating, anodizing, cleaning, conversion coatings, NDT, and other chemical treatment applications.

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to purchase and negotiate material and supplies. Qualified individual will have a working knowledge of supply chain management concepts, practices and procedures. Position requires the ability to effectively manage the procurement and delivery of purchased products, components and services with manufacturing, and engineering in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain relationships with multiple suppliers and service contractors, seeking to continuously drive efficiencies where possible
  • Work with Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to use items from surplus when available. Perform annual audit of surplus disposing of obsolete items.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet specification and delivery requirements. Document supplier performance in ERP system.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
  • Enter qualified new suppliers into the ERP system, complete credit applications and tax exemption documents as needed.
  • Manage multiple purchasing systems to request quotes, negotiate price and delivery terms. Create purchase orders for products and components, ensuring efficient procurement and timely delivery.
  • Work with shipping and receiving, engineering, and accounting to facilitate change orders, investigate/resolve pricing and fulfillment discrepancies.
  • Cross-trained to support similar positions at other locations as needed.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams as needed to share, evaluate, and implement best practices.

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Two years' experience in purchasing including experience in procurement in the purchase of major equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Negotiation skills/Problem Solving
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a courteous and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
Ability to travel to various locations within the organization (minimal).
