Job Description


The Technical Publications Analyst is responsible for issuing and auditing documentation for a wide range of uses in the Airline Quality Control and Airline Operations departments. The analyst will audit the currency of manufacturers’ manuals and company manuals as distributed. The analyst will assist in the production of company manual revisions as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES will include the following, but not limited to:

  • Issues and tracks revisions to all company-controlled manuals as assigned to personnel, aircraft, and stations.
  • Maintains and updates manuals status reports for the Maintenance and Operations Department, and aircraft audit lists for crew use.
  • Responsible auditing manufacturer-provided data for currency, completeness and for accuracy of contact information.
  • Tracks all external company controlled manuals. Assists in ordering company controlled manuals as needed.
  • Organizes and maintains the company’s library with all master manuals.
  • Maintains and updates Tech Pubs open action items in the Safety Management database.
  • Ensures all manual revision requests are supported by approved Manual Change Request forms.
  • Responsible for contacting manufacturers to ensure that their contact information is correct, that they are still responsible for STCs listed, and that we have access to related documentation.
  • Provides assistance to operations/maintenance personnel, flight crews, vendors, and other employees to ensure they are able to access required company resources pertaining to manual distribution.
  • Works with Technical Publications staff to assemble revisions to company manuals as needed.
  • Works with Technical Publications and Planning to revise task cards as needed.
  • Responsible for managing tasks associated with the iPad program for both Maintenance and Flight Operations.


    Required Experience, Education and Licensure
    • High School diploma or equivalency required.
    • Minimum AS in aviation preferred
    • Experience with MS Office software required.
    • Previous writing experience, particularly aviation writing or technical writing preferred.
    • Previous technical aviation knowledge preferred.

    Required Skills and Abilities
    • High skill and comfort level with common office software, including MS Office and Adobe Acrobat,
    • Willing and able to develop proficiency in new software titles and data systems
    • Strong ability to work under pressure
    • Adaptable to new projects and tasks
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Able to work well with others and work together to accomplish various projects
    • Excellent organization skills,
    • Types at least 45-50 wpm
    • Possesses good research skills
    • Fluent/proficient spoken and written English, and other office skills.
    • Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

    Physical Demands

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

    •Maintains the record of manuals and revisions issued to personnel and aircraft
    •Ensures that manual holders keep their manuals in current and usable form, in accordance with FAR 121.137
