Overview

SUMMARY

Paragon Professional Services, LLC (Paragon), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is seeking a CADD/GIS Graphic Specialist I to support a wide range of environmental projects. Primary duties will include providing support in preparing planning documents, supporting field activities, and preparing after action reports.

$31.73 - $37.50/hour
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Update/prepare figure packages using ArcGIS Pro, and Visio software
  • Create features such as points, lines, and polygons and edit when needed
  • Work with and maintain geospatial data which includes geodatabases, shapefiles, aerial imagery and Trimble files
  • Provide Trimble software support for the field

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree/Minor in GIS or Certificate in GIS
  • 2-4 years' working experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro "Create Features" and "Modify Features" toolset
  • Experience with common Geoprocessing Tools
  • Understanding of ArcGIS Pro Styles - Labeling and Symbology
  • ArcGIS Pro - understanding of basic editing and geoprocessing tools used to create maps that show sampling and excavation locations
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy, and strong attention to detail
  • Microsoft® Office Suite - Excel = used to modify tables, Visio = used to create organizational charts, conceptual site models, flow charts
  • Google Earth - KML creation for maps showing project features and locations
  • GPS Pathfinder Office - Trimble software used to create files based on field collected GPS features
  • Trimble Connect - Trimble software (Browser Based) used to create files based on field collected GPS features
Preferred
  • Experience creating project figure packages, maps, generating geolocation data, and creating files built from field collected data.
  • Experience drafting in AutoCAD.

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity.
