IMMI is seeking a highly motivated Fabrication Technician to support customer testing services across CAPE test centers ranging from equipment maintenance to test fabrication and preparation to post to activities. Additionally, the Fabrication Technician is to maintain a high level of professionalism to ensure that customer deliverables are met and that customer specific interests remain confidential.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Work with all CAPE functions to design and install fixtures, data acquisition systems, instrumentation and ATD's that will provide quality data for customers to evaluate their products.
  • Review test requests and applicable supporting documentation prior to beginning the test setup for clarity and completeness of information supplied.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with IMMI safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures, CAPE quality manual, and CAPE code of conduct. Maintain a high level of confidentiality to protect sensitive information, products, and innovation for our customers.
  • Maintain proper equipment calibration and maintenance and the required documentation for the duration of the test services and participate in the proper reporting.
  • Review test data prior to forwarding the data to the report review process. If applicable, analyze and evaluate modes of failure or possible causes of failure as the result of routine or special tests.
  • Provide feedback to CAPE Operations and scheduling on SOP's, supporting documentation, and overall procedures to increase quality and/or productivity and notify CAPE quality of incidents and trends.
  • Participate on cross functional teams as assigned to research, know, and understand the latest technologies, and develop new test service capabilities and /or modify existing test service capabilities.
  • Assist with tours of CAPE facilities when requested. Be prepared to elaborate on equipment and testing procedures to enhance our visitors' overall understanding of our capabilities while protecting. confidential areas, subjects, and information.
  • Must be able to travel as the need arises, the need may arise for training, seminars, and/or off-site customer testing including travel by air when required and must maintain a valid driver's license and be able to drive long distances when necessary.
  • Must be able to provide coverage after hours and weekends as required to support customer testing and meet project deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience within a relevant field demonstrating a mechanical foundation with translatable foundation and systems
  • Ability to operate the necessary electronics, tools, technology, software, and programming with obtaining and maintaining the appropriate licenses for such equipment
  • Excellent customer and people attitude
  • Must comply with legal and corporate responsibilities

  • When in the warehouse, this position requires working with dirt/dust and noise. The use of a variety of proper PPE is required to provide a safe working environment.
  • Requires continuous motion throughout the day, utilization of tools, equipment, and industrial vehicles, the ability to lift 50lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks as deemed necessary.
  • This position requires working with various temperature conditions.
