The Role

Under regular supervision, responsible for managing a set of vendors and associated spend for the company's primary off-net, leased transport providers. Specifically, requires knowledge of and the ability to work closely with both ILEC’s and CLECs. Assists with tariff review and communication, circuit-based term management, relationship development, creation and execution of vendor strategy, contract negotiations to reduce cost and enhance product offerings, management of contractual terms and conditions to ensure compliance, communication of vendor strategy and capabilities to internal stakeholders, and facilitation of the vendor performance management process and direction of improvement plans. Some knowledge of Interconnection Agreements and UNE-based products is preferred.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Proficient communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to build strong cross-departmental business relationships.
  • Operational experience in telecommunications (Provisioning, Planning, Marketing, Project Management, Account Management, or Contract Management).
  • Some experience in interpreting terms and conditions of purchase agreements and LEC tariffs, and using that knowledge to solve problems and create opportunities.
  • Some experience in negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing multiple projects and issues at the same time.
  • Understanding of local access cost elements.
  • Customer service focus.

  • Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree Fields of Study: Business, Finance, Telecommunications Additional Specialized Coursework: MBA preferred, Operations Science Preferred, Access and Excel Required knowledge and skills
  • Education Level:  Bachelor's Degree
  • Field Of Study:  Legal, Business, Finance, or Telecommunications
  • Job experience in a similar industry
