Your Role & Responsibilities

  • SUMMARY
  • Responsible for developing strategies in-line with demand and market conditions to ensure reliable and competitive transport services while maintaining relationships with carriers, tendering and negotiating freight rates for domestic shipments, monitoring international freight carrier(s), assisting global lead buyers with regional tenders and setup, improve freight bill and audit processing, invoice process, and work with accounts payable to ensure payments in-line with contractual payment terms. Support and comply to purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices that result in the achievement of measurables that support continuous business objectives.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and manage freight and transportation-related tenders
  • Negotiation of rates and conditions with service providers
  • Work with stakeholders to determine savings initiatives
  • Address incoterm alignment as needed
  • Evaluate carrier performance and address deficiencies
  • Review and verify customs/duties billing
  • Assist in the freight bill and audit process selection and monitoring
  • Assist global lead buying on international freight forwarding tenders
  • Resolve carrier disputes and/or payables issues
  • Reporting and analysis of freight data
  • Communication of rate updates and maintaining network with internal stakeholders and service providers
  • Conduct market analysis for new opportunities and solutions
  • Support Logistics Supervisor as required


Your Skills & Strengths
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor of Science in supply chain management, business, or technical area of study
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience or proven ability to manage the procurement/sourcing aspects of: freight, transportation, parcel, customs, duties, FBAP, import/export, etc. (purchasing or operational)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in ERP systems within a manufacturing environment (SAP is preferred)
  • Certification(s) is a plus
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Domestic/international travel with/without overnight stay may be required.
