Job Summary:
The Center of Excellence RN Coordinator, a Registered Nurse, is responsible for development and growing the Surgical Services Center of Excellence Program. This nurse is responsible for all case data entry in compliance with the Center of Excellence (COE). Maintains the programs' (Robotic, Hernia, and others as needed) compliance with COE requirements, meetings, and standards. Assists with creating and running required quality reports (readmission, reoperation, mortality, etc.). Assists with answering telephone calls, patients or referring providers interested in The Hernia Referral Center and triaging requests for referrals to the appropriate physician. The coordinator will monitor for clinical complications or concerns that are noted to trend negatively in order to intervene timely and begin developing quality improvement projects to decrease or illuminate harm or poor outcomes. Assists with certifying additional surgeons as Surgeons of Excellence. Assists with accreditation of additional service lines as the Center of Excellence grows. Assists in the advancement of the professional practice environment by communicating the NGMC nursing strategic direction and focusing on activities that support the nursing strategic direction. Assists with overall professional nursing practice and other projects as assigned. Is a professional member of VOICE providing feedback on issues being addressed at meetings.
