Certified Nursing Assistant - Trainee

What you will do:
  • Learn and demonstrates all knowledge and skills to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in a classroom and clinical setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend and complete the Certified Nurse Aide Training course, which addresses all areas of care rendered to a given population (i.e. geriatric) within the scope of practice of a Certified Nurse Aide. This will encompass biological, psychological and social elements at the beginning level in a health care setting where aides are employed.
  • Responsible for completing work assignments, being prompt, prepared for class and report as scheduled, and maintaining good attendance.
  • Learn the knowledge and skills required for a Certified Nurse Aide through in both a classroom and clinical setting.
  • Adhere to all rules and/or policies governing student conduct and standards of behavior.
  • Successfully pass the NYS Certified Nurse Aide Exam in order to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant; composed of both computer based written exam and a clinical skills exam monitored by a registered nurse evaluator
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need:
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English; High School Diploma or equivalent life-experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a sincere desire to serve others.
