Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required in ComputerScience, Business Administration, Management, or other related fields. 7 yearsof relevant experience in information technology with at least 5 years ofsenior information systems management, including extensive experience with ITstrategic planning, budgeting, and personnel management; systems analysis andproject management. Demonstrated knowledge of the ways and methods by whichtechnology support the teaching-learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred inComputer Science, Business Administration, Management, or other related fields.Significant experience in all aspects of information technology planning,development and implementation, including but not limited to enterpriseresource planning, systems architecture, telecommunications, databaseadministration, and security and compliance issues. Experience in a Banner ERPenvironment and experience in an academic environment. Experience in OracleRelational Database Systems, ERP processing, SQL, PLSQL, Pro*C, Linux operatingsystem, MS-Windows operating system, MyMotlow administration, third partyvendor support software, D2L event processing, front-end portal, and dataprocessing and retrieval techniques. Ability to learn and apply new emergingtechnologies. Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicateeffectively using written and verbal skills. Must be able to communicatetechnical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

General Function:

The Chief Information Officer(CIO) will lead the college's ongoing commitment to promote and support thestrategic use of information technology that advances the overall mission ofthe College. Responsible for the administration and operation of InformationTechnology services and for establishing policies, priorities, and anappropriate information system plan for administrative computing. This positioninterfaces with institutional wide functional users to develop a college-wideconsensus to support the college mission. Oversee the planning andimplementation of software, hardware, network and IT security solutions thatsupport the strategic, institutional effectiveness, student success and qualityenhancement plan of the College. Office administration, customer service, timemanagement, organizational, and scheduling skills required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for broad information technology services including applications development and maintenance, classroom and online learning technology support, information security, voice and data communications, network services and maintenance and user support;
Provide leadership in the development of a strategic direction for information technology services, gauging and anticipating the diverse needs of College constituents, monitoring trends and innovations in the industry to meet those needs; developing and implementing strategic long and short-term technology plans; and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership;
Work along with Senior Leadership to ensure IT alignment with the College's mission, academic goals, and decision making;
Provide leadership and vision for new emerging technology that will align with the institutions' mission and goals;
Lead, direct, manage and plan for appropriate training and career growth opportunities for personnel within information technology services and systems administration.
Provide recommendations for the acquisition of information technology systems based on the needs and requirements of the academic and administrative user communities;
Ensure IT data security, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity planning processes and policies are in place and receive regular review for currency and adequacy;
Monitor and maintain IT policies and procedures in compliance with current state audit standards;
Review annual budget and expenditures for enterprise resource planning (ERP); plans and manage ERP projects, including third-party-software integration;
Monitor major technology projects;
Ensure college stays abreast of new technology and IT best practices;
Serve as liaison and maintain effective relations with both internal and external constituents of IT, MSCC and TBR;
Contribute to written narratives of SACSCOC accreditation;
Communicate and cooperate with the Executive Vice-President of Business and Finance regarding all software, hardware, network or security issues;
Performs other job-relate duties and functions as assigned.
