The Claims Training Specialist is responsible for the design, delivery and continuous improvement of PMAMC's claims training programs for property, auto and liability. This Includes conducting needs assessments, establishing appropriate curricula, executing and coordinating the delivery of training and evaluating its effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and facilitate required and recommended training sessions including delivery of complex technical claims content to a variety of audiences.
  • Complete and periodically update a skills inventory analysis of field and corporate professional staff.
  • Develop curriculum based on research and analysis of business needs.
  • Partner with subject matter experts across the organization to obtain a complete understanding of business practices and procedures. Identify business challenges and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could be improved.
  • Support business specific training needs for PMAMC Claims, PMAMC Sales and PMAMC Operations in the area of property, auto and liability.
  • Select or develop teaching aids (handbooks, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials) to ensure training is accurate and effective.
  • Conduct and coordinate delivery of training using presentation skills that create excitement and motivate audience.
  • Create and continually modify training materials to meet the needs of the audience. Maintain inventory of training materials.
  • Evaluate, design and develop a wide range of methods for delivery of training including but not limited to instructor led, self-guided, virtual classroom, web-based and other eLearning methodologies.
  • Utilizes multimedia technology, software, applications, and authoring tools to create e-learning and instructor-led courses, materials, job aids, and communications.
  • Maintain and update training records.
  • Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training and training requirements applicable to the organization and the Property and Casualty industry.
  • Conduct follow-up analysis of completed training to evaluate the effectiveness and provide feedback to PMAMC Management regarding the results.
  • Acclimate PAL new hires to the business and conduct orientation sessions.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.


Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a trainer.
  • TPA claims handling and account management experience strongly preferred.
  • Property, auto, liability claims experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree (in education preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough understanding of training processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to moderate and motivate large groups.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in training methodologies and curriculum development.
  • Ability to successfully develop and deliver training programs using skills in instruction design, program design and development.
  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking ability.
  • Strong organization, planning, problem resolution, facilitation, attention to detail and level of quality, collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Computer literate. Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Word) and visual aids technology.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
