Overview

AmTrust Financial Services, a fast growing commercial insurance company, has an immediate need for Claims Clerical Supervisor. This position will supervise a team of claim assistants and manage the operations workflow. This position requires prior supervisory experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, along with providing non-technical support and ongoing training to the team. Prior claims experience with advanced knowledge of claims backend operations, including indexing mail is required, and claim entry processes experience is a plus. This position reports to a Claims Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to team to promote maximum performance.
  • Coordinates claims support and workload management function.
  • Develops and maintains claim assistants' productivity statistics
  • Conducts random audits of claim assistants work product to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains quality audits of claim assistants work, records work results, and counsels staff to bring work to or above standards.
  • Manages personnel administration including employee evaluations, timesheets and time off requests.
  • Organizes and handle special projects as needed.
  • Provides back-up support for staff as needed.
  • Trains new claim assistants on internal policies and procedures as well as performance expectations.


Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • Team leadership/management/motivational skills
  • Prior claims experience/workers compensation experienced a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document notes and compose and edit correspondence
  • Self-Directed with attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Ability to comprehend and meet various state requirements
  • Analytical and interpretive skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office suite and spreadsheet development
  • This position requires previous supervisory experience
